​Here's An Idea  Of Who I am

​

My name is BreAna Symone Missick and I am a graduating public relations student at the Florida A&M University. I will be receiving a Bachelors of Science in Public Relations with a concentration in Music Industries.

Growing up in Miami, FL music is a major part of the culture. Music has always influenced my life. As a child I had aspirations to be in the criminal justice field. After taking a career test and receiving results that entertainment would be a great field for me, I sat back an analyzed the results. I weighed the pros and cons of being a criminal justice student and decided that my heart truly was not there. I knew I was in love with music and enjoyed listening to it, so I listened to the test. My dreams of being in criminal justice went out the window and being a radio personality (voice jockey) was now my new dream.

Entering into college as a broadcast journalism student, I went to the university’s radio station, WANM 90.5 the Flavor Station, in attempt to be a personality and found a new passion. I met Deidra “Dee Dee Roc” Feilds who was over sales and promotions for the station. I joined her team and discovered a new passion, promotions. I began promoting for her company, Roc Promotions. My first project was the 2nd Annual Black College Music Conference (BCMC). I helped come up with ideas, hand out fliers, and promote the event.

Assisting in different projects with Roc Promotions I realized that I was doing public relations work. Public relations is more broad choice for the new things I enjoyed doing. I like putting together events, reaching out to the public and promoting events. After taking a few public relations courses I realized I wanted to put both my passions together and pursue a career as a publicist for music artist.

I still have the desire to be one of the best radio personalities, so I have started building my own online radio station, The Breeze Thru (TBT). Right now the project is on hold while I complete school. When I graduate I will be able to invest and create a solid team to create a powerful online radio station. The Breeze Thru is a Level4 Production. Level4 Productions is a public relations company that I developed with three friends. We have put together events for different clients, created artist media kits, responsible for planning, developing and implementing media plans for companies, and much more. We are a fully functioning entertainment public relations company.

Throughout my college experience my dreams have expanded. I have made mistakes and learned lessons. I can now say that I am ready for the real world and the surprises in store for me. My public relation skills will allow me to succeed as a publicist and represent myself as a radio personality. I plan to be the best I can be and use my skills to the best of my ability. I will continue to live by the motto “Hakuna Matata”, no worries, and take it each day at a time.
